Blocked Toilets
A toilet backing up needs toilet drain help before it overflows, so we clear the pan and the line, then trace what caught in the pipe and caused it.
Roots from Grange Forest Park's big native trees seek out earthenware pipe joints, so when a blocked drain hits toilets, sewers, stormwater or sinks in Grange, call (07) 3067 4271.
If we're late, $100 comes off your bill
Whatever the pipe is doing, it starts on the drain services page.

A toilet backing up needs toilet drain help before it overflows, so we clear the pan and the line, then trace what caught in the pipe and caused it.

When every fixture in the house slows at once, the sewer line is the usual culprit, and we clear it and find where the fault sits between your boundary and Urban Utilities' main.

Stormwater that pools against a wall or floods a yard needs the stormwater line cleared, which matters most for the low blocks on the Kedron Brook flats.

Slow kitchen, bathroom and laundry sinks and shower wastes get professional drain cleaning with the electric eel or jet blasting, clearing the grease and hair without pulling pipes apart.

A drain camera inspection shows the inside of the pipe, so you can see whether the problem is roots, a cracked joint or a collapsed section before anyone digs.

Cracked, root-damaged and collapsed lines get pipe repairs or relining where the pipe allows it, done once the camera has shown exactly what's broken.

Grange Same Day Blocked Drains is the blocked drain service for Grange, Stafford and Gordon Park. The work is toilets, sewers, stormwater lines, fixture drains and pipe repairs, mostly for the interwar and post-war family houses on the Grange Heights ridge. It's a locally owned business, not a franchise, and we can usually be there the same day.

Grange Forest Park sits in the conservation-zoned bushland along Kedron Brook off Raymont Road, and the mature native trees there, like the ones shading older local gardens, send fine roots hunting for moisture in the joints of clay house lines nearby.
The 1903 Grange Estate blocks were plumbed with vitrified earthenware because that was what went in the ground back then. Those short clay lengths under the interwar streets slowly shed their cement joints, and a slow drain in one of these houses more often than not ends at a socket that has shifted or cracked.
Houses up on The Pinnacle and the Grange Heights ridge send everything downhill fast, and the line usually chokes where the gradient finally eases near the street and the solids settle out in a heap.
When Kedron Brook breaks its banks, the low parks on its side go under water, and the ground around them stays soggy enough that nearby house drains have nowhere to drain to.

Drain backing up right now? Three quick checks:

These four signs show up in most of the drain calls we take:
air trapped by a partial blockage is escaping through the water seal, which means the line is partly closed somewhere downstream.
two fixtures sharing a half-blocked line compete for space, so the slower one backs up first.
a cracked or displaced joint is leaking into the soil, and roots will find it next.
the trap has run dry or the line is blocked past it, and either way the gas needs somewhere to go.

No two drain jobs quote the same, and these are the factors that move the figure:
an inspection opening in a easy spot costs less than a line under a concrete veranda or a paved courtyard.
deeper lines and old earthenware on the ridge blocks take longer to reach and clear than a shallow PVC run.
grease and paper clear quickly, while root masses and collapsed sections need more of everything.
some blockages clear blind, while recurring ones need the camera to show what's really going on down there.
One thing we'll say up front: a blockage in the water authority's main out on the street is Urban Utilities' job, not ours, and we'll tell you straight if that's what you've got.

The other factor in this suburb is water arriving rather than leaving. Long-run records put Grange's average annual rainfall around 1047 mm, and storm-season bursts send most of it off the Grange Heights ridge toward the brook.
What that means for the flats. Council's mapped February 2022 flood extent, along with its high-likelihood creek class, covers Gilbert Road Park and parts of Emerson Park and Grange Forest Park. The streets themselves are largely clear of it.
Grange also sits outside both the 1974 and 2011 Brisbane River flood footprints, which is worth knowing when you're buying. What the mapping doesn't stop is a backed-up stormwater pit full of silt and leaf litter when the brook runs high.
If your stormwater points and downpipes stopped coping after the last big storm, that's a drain job too, and it's worth clearing before the next one arrives.
The run covers Grange itself plus the suburbs on either side of the ridge: Stafford, Gordon Park, Lutwyche, Windsor and Wilston. Each has its own mix of pipe ages and tree cover, and each page sets out what we see there.

On (07) 3067 4271, run through which fixtures are slow, gurgling or overflowing, so the plumber on the way knows where to start.
Once the cause is clear we explain the fix and quote a fixed upfront price, and nothing starts until you say yes.

We clear the blockage with the electric eel or jet blasting, then put the drain camera down to confirm the pipe is clean and see what caused it.

Water runs through the line until it drains freely, and you see the result for yourself before we go.
$0 call-out fees, available 24/7, and same-day where we can.

That last point matters most on the days a toilet is out of action and the house is full.
We answer the phone seven days a week and fit you in fast, including same-day where we can, right across Grange.

Every job comes with $0 call-out fees and no surcharge for nights, weekends or public holidays, and there are no hidden fees: fix now, pay later.
Every drain job comes with a lifetime labour warranty and our Fix-It-or-It's-Free guarantee, and if we're late, $100 comes off your bill. T&Cs apply.
We're licensed and insured (QBCC No: 15024607), every job is done by a licensed plumber, and we have 200+ five-star Google reviews.
Access to the pipe, its depth and material, what caused the blockage and whether a camera inspection is needed all shape the quote, which you agree to before any work starts.
Call in the morning and we can usually have a plumber at your Grange drain the same day, though we never promise it before we know the job.
The house side of the connection is yours to maintain, while the sewer main out on the street belongs to Urban Utilities, so faults in the main are their responsibility.
Wipes, paper towel, cotton buds, fats and sanitary items belong in the bin, because they catch in old earthenware joints and cause most of the toilet backups we clear.
A drain camera shows the pipe from inside, so we can see whether it's roots, a cracked clay joint or a collapsed section before we recommend clearing or repair.
Ring (07) 3067 4271, describe which fixtures are slow or gurgling, and you'll get a fixed upfront price before any work begins on the line.
